Can I eat and drink the same things as before?
Start with soft foods. Take your time if you have a new denture. Begin with soft foods like eggs, fish, cooked vegetables, oatmeal, soup, and purees.
Be cautious with hot drinks and foods. When wearing a denture, you may initially have difficulty sensing the heat of beverages and foods, so be careful when consuming them to avoid burning your mouth.
Practice makes perfect. The good news is that with a little practice, you will start to enjoy your favorite foods again just like before. The more confident you become in eating with a denture, the easier it will become.
How do I clean my denture?
Make sure to keep your denture in a liquid environment to prevent it from drying out and deforming.
Soak your denture in a denture cleaning solution or water, preferably overnight. Never immerse your denture in hot water as it may deform.
Take a soft-bristled brush, apply a bit of denture cleaner or mild toothpaste, and use warm water to gently brush away any Fixodent Pro residue from your palate, tongue, and mouth. Ensure all adhesive residue is removed to ensure proper and comfortable fit.
Seek advice from your dentist if your denture has metal attachments, as immersing it in water may tarnish these parts.
By following these simple instructions, your denture should maintain optimal performance, providing you with a comfortable fit and secure hold.
Can I adjust my denture myself?
It is not recommended to adjust your denture yourself. Dentures are custom-made to fit perfectly in your mouth and align with your bite. Any attempt at non-professional adjustments or modifications may lead to issues such as discomfort, irritation of oral tissues, damage to adjacent teeth, or damage to the denture itself.
